What Munich Fashion Week Taught Us About the Next Chapter of TINKU

Munich Fashion Week was not just a moment to look at fashion.

For us, it became a moment to look at TINKU with fresh eyes.

We went there with questions that have been accompanying us for a while: How do we show our products better? How do we communicate the value of alpaca without saying too much? How do we make people feel the texture, the lightness, the origin and the craftsmanship before they even touch the piece?

TINKU has always been rooted in Bolivia, in alpaca, in social impact, in textile knowledge and in long-term relationships with the people who make our products. But this year, we are learning to tell that story with more clarity.

Less noise. More product.

More texture. More space. More confidence.

Seeing the product first

One of the biggest lessons we take from Munich Fashion Week is how much a product can say when it is shown with intention.

A piece does not always need many words around it. Sometimes it needs light. Space. Movement. A body wearing it naturally. A detail shot that shows the material. A moment where you can almost feel the softness through the image.

This is something we want to bring more into TINKU.

We want to show our pieces not only as handmade products, but as contemporary alpaca pieces designed to be worn, combined, loved and kept for many years.

Our origin remains important. Our impact remains important. But the first feeling should be: I want to wear this.

The Chiri shawl as a starting point

During this process, one piece became especially important for us: our Chiri shawl.

The Chiri shawl is light, soft and versatile. It is made from alpaca and has a delicate knitted structure that gives it air, movement and elegance. It is not only a winter piece. It is a shawl that can be worn in spring, in summer evenings, during transitional seasons and throughout the year.

That is why we started to see it differently.

Not only as a warm accessory, but as a refined piece for moments when you want something light over your shoulders: a summer dinner, a garden party, a walk on a cool evening, a wedding, a holiday, or a day when a simple outfit needs a little more texture and colour.

And yes, also with a dirndl.

Alpaca and dirndl: two traditions in conversation

One of the most beautiful discoveries for us was how naturally the Chiri shawl can be combined with traditional German clothing.

A dirndl already carries history, femininity and a sense of occasion. When combined with our lightweight alpaca shawl, something interesting happens: two textile worlds meet without competing.

Together, they create a look that feels timeless, elegant and personal.

For us, this is exactly what TINKU means: encounter.

Not in a loud way. Not as costume. Not as decoration. But as a quiet meeting between cultures, materials and ways of dressing.

More air, more space, more feeling

Another thing we noticed is the importance of space.

Images with too much going on can quickly distract from the product. But when there is more sky, more air, more natural light and fewer elements around the model, the piece can breathe.

This is especially important for the Chiri shawl. Because it is light. Because it moves. Because it does not need to be overstyled.

We want future images to show more of that feeling: calm, elegance, ease, texture and real use.

Bolivia, but with precision

TINKU will always carry Bolivia in its heart.

But we are also learning that showing Bolivia does not always mean showing obvious symbols or colourful clichés. Sometimes Bolivia is in the fibre. In the hands. In the technique. In the relationship with the people who make the piece. In the colour choices. In the name. In the way we respect the material.

For the Chiri shawl, Bolivia is present in the alpaca, in the textile knowledge and in the idea that a piece can be both functional and meaningful.

It can be modern and rooted.

It can belong in Europe without losing where it comes from.

What we are taking with us

From Munich Fashion Week, we take the reminder that fashion is not only about trends. It is about how a piece is presented, how it moves, how it feels, how it becomes part of someone’s life.

For TINKU, this means:

showing the product more clearly,
letting the material lead,
giving texture more space,
creating images with more calm and air,
and telling our Bolivian story with more precision.

The Chiri shawl is the first piece through which we want to explore this new direction.

This is the next step for TINKU: not becoming something new, but showing more clearly what was already there.
